India Emerges as Key Market for AI and Cybersecurity Solutions, Says Check Point, ETCIO
Global cybersecurity firm Check Point Software Technologies said India is one of its fastest-growing regions globally, and the company is seeing an increase in the traction for its generative artificial intelligence (GenAI)-powered solutions, including a product co-developed with American chip major Nvidia.
“India remains one of our fastest-growing markets, driven by strong adoption of advanced cybersecurity solutions across key sectors such as BFSI, healthcare, public sector, and manufacturing,” Sundar Balasubramanian, MD, Check Point Software Technologies, India & South Asia, told ETTelecom in an interview.
“…India continues to play a significant role as a growth driver. Our expansion is underpinned by long-term investments in local talent, innovation, and infrastructure,” Balasubramanian added.
The Tel Aviv-headquartered company does not disclose region-specific financials. As of the second quarter, the Asia Pacific (APAC) region – ranked third by revenue – contributed 12% to the company, growing by 15% year-on-year.
In India, Check Point has business with organisations including Kokilaben Hospital, Alkem Laboratories, and LTIMindtree, for its AI-driven integrated solutions.
Check Point estimates that Indian enterprises face an average of 3,247 cyberattacks per week, nearly double the global average of 1,981 over the last six months, a figure which it believes can be reduced via AI-enabled cyber solutions.
The top executive said that threat actors, including both state-sponsored groups and professional hackers, are increasingly leveraging AI to automate and scale operations, resulting in complex and harder-to-detect attacks. At the same time, the Israeli cybersecurity company, along with its rivals such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and Zscaler, is aiming to deliver the benefits of AI while simultaneously helping enterprises and businesses counter sophisticated cyberattacks enabled by the technology.
“We are seeing growing traction for our Infinity platform, the Infinity AI Copilot, AI Cloud Protect developed with Nvidia, and our GenAI Protect solution for security against today’s AI-fuelled enterprise attacks,” Balasubramanian said, adding that these offerings are helping Indian enterprises protect against threats while enabling secure adoption of emerging technologies such as GenAI.
According to the MD, the company is accelerating its business growth in India by focusing on opportunities in the hybrid mesh network segment and advancing its AI-driven solutions to counter increasingly sophisticated threats.
“India remains a key strategic market driven by rapid digital adoption a tech-savvy young workforce and a growing cyber threat landscape. These factors have led to strong demand for cloud-delivered, AI-powered and prevention-first cybersecurity solutions tailored to the evolving needs of Indian enterprises,” he said.
The company has made significant investments in India already, including the opening of an office and research & development hub in Bengaluru, a new facility in Mumbai, along with satellite offices in key cities.
