Upwind announced it is expanding its presence in India to support demand for real-time cloud risk management as cloud and AI adoption increases. The company said it plans to grow local engineering and go-to-market teams, strengthen local operations, and deploy an in-country SaaS instance to address data residency, performance, and regulatory requirements.

The announcement notes that as more workloads shift to cloud-native architectures, the number of users, APIs, access points, and short-lived workloads increases, raising exposure to misconfigurations, unintended access, and real-time exploitation. It cites a 2025 study stating that 85% of large enterprises in India experienced at least one cloud security incident, and that the average total cost of a data breach in India was ₹220 million.

Upwind said its expansion includes building regional teams across engineering, sales, solutions architecture, marketing, and customer support, and working with partners such as ISVs, MSPs, and resellers. It also referenced integrations and partnerships with cloud providers, including AWS, and said it is pursuing a partner-led approach in the market.
